The publication
Editorial Standards
Independent publishing, with clear responsibilities to our readers.
Our aim is useful, accurate, independent coverage written in clear language.
Original work
Articles and explanatory features are written originally for the publication. We use source material to verify facts, rather than reproduce another publication’s writing. AI may assist research and drafting; material factual claims require source verification. We do not imply that a desk-written report is an eyewitness account or an interview.
Evidence and attribution
Current reports carry a publication date and source links. Official announcements are attributed to the issuing organization. Plans, projections, tests, and completed achievements are identified as different stages. Analysis is presented as interpretation, rather than as a new reported fact.
Photographs and illustrations
This edition uses individually identified public-domain U.S. government photographs for editorial context. Credits and archival dates appear with the images or on the photography page. An archival image is not presented as a photograph of a current event. Government seals and service insignia are not used as our brand identity.
Corrections
Send a correction request with the article title, the statement in question, and supporting evidence. Substantive corrections should be noted on the affected article with the date and a clear description of what changed.
Advertising and independence
Advertising invitations are labelled separately from editorial content. An advertiser’s presence does not establish military or government endorsement. We do not promise audience size or outcomes that have not been measured.
